Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
This policy explains what Fold collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. We wrote it to be readable.
What we collect
Waitlist signup: Your email address. We may also collect UTM parameters, which ad or link brought you here, so we understand how people find us.
Workspace account: Your name and email for authentication. The documents, meeting notes, and governance records you upload. The questions you ask Fold and the answers it returns, so the service can work and so we can improve it.
Session data: Standard authentication tokens to keep you logged in.
How we use it
We use your email to contact you about early access and, if you're a subscriber, about your account. We don't send marketing email beyond what you signed up for. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
We use your workspace documents to run the service: to answer your questions and return citations. We do not train AI models on your documents.
We use Facebook Pixel for ad attribution. This is standard practice and we're disclosing it here because you should know.
Who we share it with
Fold uses three AI providers, each for a narrow purpose. Anthropic generates the answers you read (Claude Sonnet 4.6). Voyage AI — Anthropic's recommended embedding partner — creates the numeric fingerprints that let Fold find your own notes. Groq transcribes audio recordings when you upload sermons as voice notes. We do not send your data to OpenAI or to any other model vendor. None of these providers are permitted to train on your content.
Full list of service providers:
- Supabase - database and authentication
- Anthropic - your questions and relevant document excerpts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate answers
- Voyage AI - your documents and questions are converted into numeric vectors (embeddings) for search. No generation. No content sent for human review.
- Groq - when you upload audio recordings, they're sent to Groq for transcription into text. We only send audio you upload; we do not record anything.
- Resend - transactional email (account notifications, waitlist confirmations)
- Stripe - payment processing for paid plans
- Meta - ad attribution via Facebook Pixel
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with other churches on Fold.
What Anthropic is allowed to do with your content
Fold uses Anthropic's commercial Claude API (not the consumer Claude.ai product) to generate your answers. Anthropic's commercial terms, which we rely on as a business customer, commit to three things:
- No training. Your questions and documents are never used to train Anthropic's models.
- 30-day retention. Anthropic retains API content for up to 30 days for Trust and Safety monitoring, then deletes it.
- No human review except for abuse. No Anthropic employee reads your content unless it's flagged for abuse or legal compliance.
You can read Anthropic's commercial terms directly at anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms. If these terms ever change, we'll update this page and email subscribers.
We're actively evaluating Zero Data Retention (ZDR) with Anthropic, which removes the 30-day retention window entirely. If we enable it, we'll say so here.
What Voyage AI and Groq are allowed to do with your content
We use Voyage AI only for embeddings - a one-way mathematical conversion of text into numeric vectors that powers Fold's search. Embeddings cannot be reversed back into readable text. Voyage's API terms commit to no training on customer content and no human review of embedding inputs.
We use Groq only for audio transcription when you upload voice recordings. Groq receives the audio file, returns a text transcript, and does not retain the audio after processing. Groq does not train on customer content.
Neither provider generates answers. Generation is Anthropic only. We do not use OpenAI for any purpose.
